ABOUT ME
Barry is an eclectic and curious soul who loves the crinkle of inked paper and the typewriter clack of mechanical keyboards. Coffee is non-negotiable, first drafts always suck, and life might be stranger than fiction but it ain’t more interesting. The struggle to complete a full sentence is ve

His hobbies include ‘movement meditation’, ‘energetic exertion’, ‘pushing plastic’, and ‘thumb therapy‘. Normal people know them as parkour, fitness, board games, and video games.

Barry lives in laid-back Adelaide, South Australia, where sea, hills, and outback are within easy reach. Occasionally he peers outside and remembers that these lovely things exist.

This oddball emphasises that he’s a regular person ‘juggling the struggle‘: a full-time job (not writing), a relationship (like poetry, but not writing), fitness (grunting isn’t writing), study (writing so dry the ink evaporates), and fiction writing (You are here --> X).

ABOUT THE SITE
More than just my credentials, this site is therapy, journey, pain, joy. It’s the struggle, the demands of life and how they affect my writing. It’s the influences that worm their way into the writer’s bubble - that most sacred of spaces where all that exists is written, and all that is written exists. It’s the pen, the mind, and the monologue. It’s the dotted meandering line to publication.
